This weeks webinar explores the use of short form mobile video
Watch live at 10:30am Friday 17 May (NZ time)
For those in the UK we will run a webinar 10:30am Friday 17th UK time with @IanUptonCU
As promised, here are some resources:
The 5x5 is a classic new to filmmaking exercise. It is a very simple challenge but one that will be as challenging as you want to make it!
This is a Creative Commons Resource so please feel free to use for your own teaching...
Note. Although you can view it on a web browser it is designed to be viewed on a smartphone. So your students can take the resource 'out into the field' and have relevant info to hand...
If you are going to have a go at the Commute Challenge, this might be a model you want to try!
And here are some inspirations. Check out a couple as the list can be a bit hit and miss.
I mentioned Light Bites. Here is a case study video created by Future Learn where I describe my sessions.
This is a fab and free tool. Great for actively engaging students.
This is Adobes new mobile video editing tool. Pretty awesome!
The Adobe Education Exchange is a fab resource for all things digital media. A great place to get ideas for activities and insights into teaching digital media. I link here to my profile...
And finally, here is one of my vids. Quite old now. Shot live with avatar actors in a virtual world using an iPhone in 2011. It won a competition and was screened at the BFI in London UK. I had some v interesting conversations with the venue who wanted me to upscale my 'iPhone' footage to a big screen cinema format. Quite surreal! The notion of mobile video back then was really not understood!
Thanks for this. I tried the 5x5 challenge.
All the best,
Loving it Neil!
