A cross disciplinary group of academics, researchers, students, designers and developers exploring new ways of learning through technology and new media. The App Lab creates pedagogical transformation through instructional design, user meaning-making and emerging learning technologies, applied into experimental app design & development and digital learning outputs. Our goal is to produce the best possible learning outcomes for all learners in meaningful ways.
This research and learning lab represents a coalition of imaginative, creative and digitally capable staff and students from the Auckland University of Technology, and a range of external institutional and industry partners. We dedicate ourselves to critically thinking about and applying effective methods for successfully using technology for teaching and learning. App Lab seeks to improve community wellbeing through learning experiences, and provide opportunities for emergent and disruptive paradigms into education-based user experience design.
